John White (Wayte?)1

John White (Wayte?) was born circa 1836.1

He was living with another boy of approximately 15 years named James Leonard in the 1841 census at 7 Boundary Street, Hulme, Manchester. The 1841 census only recorded adult ages rounded down to the nearest 5 years; his approximate age was recorded as 15. John's surname may have been a corruption of 'Wayte', perhaps making him a relative of James' mother (whose maiden name was Wayte).1
