Henry Smith Fisher was born circa 1832 at Shrewsbury, Shropshire.1 He was a witness at the wedding of Donald Nicholson and Elizabeth Ann Medhurst at St. Philip's Donald Nicholson attended as father of the groom; others who may have attended the wedding include Nancy Ann Cattral as mother of the bride, Thomas Medhurst as father of the bride and Jane Wetherell as mother of the groom. on Wednesday, 6 August 1856 at Liverpool. Elizabeth and Donald went on to have at least five children together.2,3,4
Henry Smith Fisher married Jane Naylor Medhurst, daughter of Thomas Medhurst and Nancy Ann Cattral, circa 1858.1
He was recorded as head of household in the 1861 census with Jane Naylor Medhurst as his spouse at 241 Crown Street, West Derby, Liverpool. Also living in the house were two of their children and Jane's father.1 Henry Smith Fisher was a collector and precentor.1
