Fred H. Nicholson may have been born on 17 January 1865.1 He was likely born on 17 January 1866 at Manchester Registration District.3 He was the son of Walter Wetherell Nicholson and Mary Goodfellow.1
He was recorded as living with his parents, a servant and a nurse, and siblings Joseph, Walter, Andrew, Harold and Annie in the 1871 census at Hereford Street, Sale, Cheshire. He was recorded as being 5 years old.4 His occupation was recorded as being a scholar in the census.4
Fred died on 22 October 1924 at Tregaron, Ceredigion, Wales, at age 58.1
