Mary Goodfellow was born on 3 May 1838 at Manchester.1 She was the daughter of Thomas Goodfellow.2
She married Walter Wetherell Nicholson, a commercial clerk, son of Donald Nicholson and Jane Wetherell, in a Church of England ceremony at St. John's on Thursday, 29 July 1858 at Manchester. She was 20 and her husband Walter was 19. The wedding certificate was also signed by Eliza Goodfellow.3,4,1
Mary Goodfellow was recorded as the spouse of Walter Wetherell Nicholson in the 1861 census at 112 Stocks Street, Cheetham Hill, Manchester. She was recorded as being 23 years old. Also living in the house was their two year old son Joseph.5
Mary Goodfellow was recorded as the spouse of Walter Wetherell Nicholson in the 1871 census at Hereford Street, Sale, Cheshire. She was recorded as being 32 years old. Also living in the house were 6 of their children aged 11 to 1, a servant and a nurse.6
Mary Goodfellow was recorded as the spouse of Walter Wetherell Nicholson in the 1881 census at Brighton Grove, Rusholme, Manchester. She was recorded as being 42 years old. Also in the house were eight of their children aged 19 to 4, a four-year-old visitor and two servants.7

She was recorded as head of household in the 1891 census at Hochelaga, Quebec. She was 52 years old. She was recorded as being married, but her husband wasn't there.8

Mary died on 31 May 1921 at 2617 Waverly street, Montreal, Quebec, at age 83.10,1 Her body was interred at Mount Royal Cemetery on 2 June 1921 at Montreal, Quebec.10
