Charles John Matthews Bridger was born on 20 December 1864 at Great Enton, Godalming, Surrey.1 He was the son of Charlotte Bridger.1 Charles John Matthews Bridger was baptised at All Saints Parish Church on Sunday, 12 February 1865 at Witley, Surrey. Charles lived in July 1886 at Oxted Green, Milford, Surrey.1

He married Amy Violet Trigg, daughter of Henry Herbert Trigg and Eliza Playl, at St. John The Evangelist on Saturday, 3 July 1886 at Milford, Surrey. He was 21 and his wife Amy was 19..1 Charles John Matthews Bridger was a walking-stick maker in October 1886.1

Charles died on 21 June 1906 at age 41.1 He was buried on 27 June 1906 at Milford, Surrey.
