Irvine Kempt Reid was born in 1860 at Aberdeen.1 He was the son of James Reid and Margaret Gibb.1

He was recorded as living with his parents, aunt and older siblings James, Jessie and David, Robina and Annie in the 1861 census at 58 John Street, Aberdeen.2

He was recorded as living with his parents and siblings Annie, Jessie, David, Robina, Charles and Margaret in the 1871 census at Aberdeen. He was recorded as being 11 years old.3 Irvine Kempt Reid was a scholar on 2 April 1871.3

He was recorded as living with his parents, a servant, and siblings Robina, Charles and Margaret in the 1881 census at Aberdeen. He was recorded as being 20 years old.4 Irvine Kempt Reid was a 'student of medicine' on 3 April 1881.4

His father died 6 November 1881 at the age of 66.

On 3 May 1882 his sister Robina died at the age of 24.

He was recorded as living with his mother, his brother-in-law, six-month old nephew, and sister Jessie in the 1891 census at 94 Irvine Place, in Aberdeen. He was recorded as being 30 years old.5 His occupation was recorded as being a registered physician in the census.5 Irvine Kempt Reid was a doctor in the Colonial Medical Service. Irvine lived at Aberdeen.6

He made a will on 26 May 1930. His estate was valued at over 25 thousand pounds.. (an unknown value.)6

Irvine died on 1 October 1931 at Middlesex.1
