Constance Henrietta LeClare Nicholson was born on 8 January 1899 at Winton, Queensland.1 She was the daughter of Daniel Malcolm McBean Nicholson and Catherine Ann O'Reilly.1 Constance Henrietta LeClare Nicholson was also known as Connie.2

Her mother died June 1902 at the age of 39. Constance was aged 3 when this happened. After their mother died, their father apparently didn't help raise the children; they were fostered or looked after by family and friends in the Winton and Kyuna district. There is some suggestion that their grandmother never acknowledged her grandchildren, yet according to the birth certificates she assisted with at least some of the births..3 Constance was raised by Ellen and Patrick Huey. They had a grazing property at Kyuna, and Patrick had a butchers shop. They made sure she had a good eductation and upbringing.4 She went to Stuartholme in Brisbane - a boarding school - for her secondary education.5 Constance lived in 1921 at Inkerman Siding, in Ayr, Queensland.5 She was a schoolteacher in 1921.5

Constance Henrietta LeClare Nicholson married John Freeman Tierney at St. Marys Roman Catholic Church on Wednesday, 2 June 1926 at the Townsville suburb of West End, Queensland. They were 27 and 39 respectively.1 Constance Henrietta LeClare Nicholson was engaged in homeduties in 1934.5 Constance and John lived in 1934 at Ernest Street, in Innisfail, Queensland.5 In later years he owned several business in the hotel, trucking an taxi industries.5

Constance's brother James began military service on Thursday, 22 May 1941 with the 2/9th battalion AIF (QX11838) at age 39.6 Constance Henrietta LeClare Nicholson was engaged in homeduties in 1949.5 Constance and John lived in 1949 at Edith Street, in Innisfail, Queensland.5 Constance and John lived in 1959 at corner Planet Avenue and Solar Cresent, in Innisfail, Queensland.5

Constance died on 28 July 1966 at Atherton, Queensland, at age 67.1 She was buried on 31 July 1966 at Atherton Cemetery, in Atherton, Queensland.1
