Amy Gill was born on 24 February 1899 at Moor Street, in Charters Towers, Queensland.3 She was the daughter of George James Gill and Harriett Ann Ford.2
Amy Gill married John Laurence LeClare Nicholson, son of Daniel Malcolm McBean Nicholson and Catherine Ann O'Reilly, on Saturday, 27 February 1915 at Kuridala, Queensland. They were 16 and 19 respectively.1
John and Amy bought 5 acres of land at Arcaciavale (now Aitkenvale) in Townsville. they kept cows and raised chickens and a couple of geese, the eggs of which John and his sons would sell door to door. John bought his son Laurence a horse for his help.4 Amy lived in 1949 at at 105 Bowen Road in the Townsville suburb of Rosslea.4 She was a barmaid in January 1949.2 Amy lived in January 1949 at 34 Chilcott Street, in Lambton, New South Wales.2
Amy Gill married James William Roy Thompson, son of John Thompson and Clare Alice Howard, at St. John the Baptist on Friday, 28 January 1949 at Lambton, New South Wales.2
Amy died on 28 May 1981 at Rankin Park Hospital, in Newcastle, New South Wales, at age 82.5
