James Jameson was likely born in 1802 at Ashton in Makerfield, Lancashire.2 He may have been born in 1802 at Macclesfield, Cheshire.3 He may have been born in 1802 at Hawick, Lancashire.1
James Jameson married Nancy Calderbank after 1818.1
He was recorded as head of household in the 1851 census with Nancy Calderbank as his spouse at Barn Street, Bolton, Lancashire. He was recorded as being 49 years old. Also in the house were six of their children aged between 19 and 7 years old.3 His occupation was recorded as being an overlooker in the census.3
He was recorded as head of household in the 1861 census with Nancy Calderbank as his spouse at 56 Asburner Street, Bolton, Lancashire. His age was recorded as 59 years old, and living with five of their children and two grand-children.2 His occupation was recorded as being an overlooker in a cotton factory in the census.2
He was recorded as head of household in the 1871 census with Nancy Jameson as his spouse at 6 Bradshawgate, Bolton, Lancashire. He was recorded as being 69 years old. Also living in the house was Martha Alice Miller, the sister of one of their son's wives, as a servant.1 His occupation was recorded as being a master umbrella manufacturer in the census.4
