Mary Ann Western was born on 28 December 1836 at the village of Haydon near the near the city of of Taunton, Somerset.1 She was the daughter of Francis Western and Sarah Dirk.1

Mary Ann Western married Henry Oaten, son of William Oaten and Elizabeth Meacham, at Holy Trinity on Thursday, 23 August 1860 at Taunton, Somerset.1

Mary died on 15 March 1921 at Pitminster, Somerset, at age 84.1
