Believed to be Charlotte Smith (but may be her daughter Fanny Elizabeth Lempriere). The picture was perhaps painted by Thomas James Lempriere, Charlotte's huisband.

Charlotte Smith was born on 4 May 1803 at Chatham, Kent.2,1

Thomas apparently taught Charlotte to speak French on the voyage to Australia.3

Charlotte Smith married Thomas James Lempriere in 1823 at Hobart.1

Charlotte died on 27 September 1890 at age 87.4
