Walter Horatio Westbrook was born on 21 November 1827 at Hobart.1 He was the son of Dr. James Henry Westbrook and Elizabeth Chapel. Walter Horatio Westbrook was christened on 26 November 1828. He presumably lived with his parents at the corner of Murray and Collins streets, in Hobart, in January 1829. in January 1829 he lived on or near Hobart, presumably with his wife and five children.2
Walter Horatio Westbrook married Virginia Susan Lord on Thursday, 10 November 1853.
Walter died on 3 January 1897 at Launceston, Tasmania, at age 69.1
