Louisa Ann Garlick Berjew was born on 7 June 1849 at Kermode Street, in North Adelaide.1,2 She was the daughter of John Berjew and Catherine Jane Iles Fooks.1 She presumably moved with her parents to Melbourne in 1851.3 She presumably moved with her parents to Circular Head, Tasmania, in April 1856.3

Louisa Ann Garlick Berjew married Joseph Birmingham Alford at the Presbyterian Manse on Saturday, 21 June 1873 at the Melbourne suburb of Richmond. They were 24 and 28 respectively.4,5,1

She may have attended the wedding of her sister in the marriage of Sydney Harnett Wragg and Eleanor Mary Susan Berjew in a Church of England ceremony at St. Paul's on Monday, 14 April 1879 at Stanley, Tasmania. Sydney and Eleanor went on to have five children together.6,7 Louisa lived in 1914 at 106 Nelson Road, in South Melbourne.8

Louisa died on 4 August 1927 at Melbourne at age 78.5 Her body was interred on 5 August 1927 at the Melbourne suburb of Kew.5
