Charles Edward Deane was born on 22 September 1856 at the Adelaide suburb of Norwood.2 He was the son of Alexander Charles Deane and Ann Dunne.1
His mother died 26 June 1870 at the approximate age of 38. Charles was aged 13 when this happened.
A family member states that the children from Alexander Deane's first marriage were looked after by a woman in Walkerville because the second wife Sarah Sheils didn't want to care for them.1 He was a shoemaker circa 1880.2
Charles Edward Deane married Catherine Cecilia O'Loughlin in 1889 at the Adelaide suburb of North Adelaide.3,2
His father died 12 April 1912 at the age of 71. Charles was aged 55 when this happened.
Charles died on 5 July 1930 at Norwood, South Australia, at age 73.2
