Albert was born on Wednesday, 10 December 1919 at the Melbourne suburb of Northcote.^1,2 He was the son of Henry William Oaten and Ellen Gertrude Morris. He presumably lived with his parents at the Melbourne suburb of Preston in 1924.³ Albert was was on active service 1939-1948 in Grafton, New South Wales.³

Albert Edward Oaten married Joy Admelia Denman circa 1946.³ Albert and Joy lived in 1949 at Preston.⁴ His body was interred in 1971 at Preston.⁴

Albert died on 30 August 1971 at Preston at age 51.^5,6
