Frederick was born in 1912 at Seymour, Victoria.1 He was the son of Frederick Edmund Oaten and Sophie Ctina Schaefer. With the Australian Military forces in the Second World War.2 His body was interred circa July 1942 at Rabaul, East New Britain, Papua New Guinea.2
