George was born in 1895 at the Melbourne suburb of Collingwood.2,3 He was the son of Thomas Norwood and Elizabeth Holligan.1 George was was on active service from 1914 to 1920.4
He married Margaret Mary Oaten, daughter of Charles Henry Oaten and Catherine Carroll, in 1918 at Victoria..5 George and Margaret lived in 1924 at at 108 Gipps Street in the Melbourne suburb of Collingwood.6 George Norwood was a boot-trade employee in 1926.6 George and Margaret lived in 1934 at at 99 Henty Street in the Melbourne suburb of Preston. Margaret's aging father also lived with them.7 George Norwood was a boot-trade employee in 1936.8 George and Margaret lived in 1939 at Preston. Margaret's aging father also lived with them.9 George Norwood was in the boot trade in 1946.10
George died on 26 March 1967 at the Melbourne suburb of Preston.1 His body was interred at the Melbourne suburb of Coburg.4
