Elizabeth Kirwan was also known as Betty. Elizabeth was born circa 1885. She was the daughter of Henry William Kirwan and Elizabeth Mary Henry.1 At John Hill's birth, on 20 December 1905 at at 'Thalaba' Muston St. in the Sydney suburb of Mosman she assisted as a midwife.2,3 Elizabeth Kirwan was a 'demonstrator and teacher of the stenotype machine' at Perth Stenotype College in 1918 at Perth, Western Australia.4,1 She and Elizabeth Mary Henry moved to Sydney in June 1918.5 Elizabeth Kirwan was the first lady reporter on the Railway Appeal Board in December 1918 at Sydney.6 Elizabeth lived in November 1932 at Roslyn Road, in Sydney.7

She married John James Valentine Boyle, son of Jeremiah Michael Boyle and Ada McNamara, at St. Mary's Cathedral on Wednesday, 2 November 1932 at Sydney..1,8 Elizabeth Kirwan went to the Warwick Farm races wearing "a smartly cut frock of black light woollen material. Her hat was of jade green felt, and she wore silver fox furs." on 30 August 1937.9 Elizabeth and John lived on 15 March 1938 at at Lauderdale Avenue in the Sydney suburb of Manly.10 She presumably lived with her spouse John at 11 Brentwood Avenue, in Turramurra, in 1948.11
