Hannah was born on Friday, 29 May 1846 at the small Tasmanian town of Evandale.1 She was the daughter of Kennedy Murray and Hannah Goodall.

She married Augustus East Littler, son of Charles Littler and Annie Summers, in a Church of Scotland ceremony on Thursday, 22 August 1867 at Trafalgar, Tasmania. She was 21 and her husband Augustus was 24.

Hannah Sarah Murray married Francis Seymour Stevens on Saturday, 25 July 1891 at Launceston, Tasmania. They were 45 and 32 respectively.2

Hannah died on 26 February 1937 at Launceston, Tasmania, at age 90.3
