William Oaten was born in 1720.2,1 He was the son of Michael Wootton and Amy Parkhouse.1 William Oaten was baptised at St. Andrew and St. Mary on Saturday, 2 March 1720 at Pitminster, Somerset.3,1
His father died 3 April 1743 at the approximate age of 69.
William Oaten married Hannah Newberry on Sunday, 22 December 1743 at Pilton, Somerset.4,2,1 William Oaten was said to be an innkeeper at the Holman Clavel from 1776 to 1790. At the time it was called the Cog Wheel. between 1776 and 1790.1
William may have died on 9 October 1791 at Pitminster, Somerset.5,1
William may have died on 26 April 1795 at Pitminster, Somerset.6,1
