Henry Fearncombe was born circa 1791 at St. Mary, in Taunton, Somerset.1 He was the son of Samuel Fearncombe and Elizabeth Taylor.1 Henry Fearncombe was baptised at St. Mary on Thursday, 13 January 1791 at Taunton, Somerset.1

Henry Fearncombe married Mary Graetely in 1824.1 Henry Fearncombe Henry started his trade in the japanning business and later established the Phoenix Works. Henry worked mainly on tin-plate and later on brass and copper. He exhibited 'coal vases' at the 1851 Great Exhibition. When Henry died he left half the business to his nephew John Oaten, and the other half to "Ann Dalton, otherwise Ann McMann, the daughter of my late wife."1,2

Henry died on 18 April 1856 at Wrockwardine, Worcestershire.1
