George was born on Thursday, 25 March 1802 at the Sydney suburb of Parramatta.2,3 He was the son of William Hill and Mary Johnson.1 George Hill was a carcass butcher at 44 Queen Strret, in Surry Hills.3 He was a publican with three pubs in Pitt Street in 1832.3
George Hill married Mary Ann Hunter at St. James' Church of England on Monday, 18 June 1832 at Sydney.3
George Hill married Jane Binnie at St. James' Church of England on Wednesday, 24 March 1841 at Sydney.4 George Hill was Sydney Alderman, a role he served for 9 years in 1842.3 He was Mayor of Sydney in 1850.3 He was Sydney Alderman, staying in the role for 2 years in 1857.3
George died on 19 July 1883 at age 81.3 His body was interred at St. Jude's Cemetery at the Sydney suburb of Randwick.5
