Emma was born in 1859.2
It seems likely that Emma was engaged by Richard to care for his wife in her deteriorating health.2
Emma Elizabeth Whitehorn married Richard Edward Tapley, son of Thomas Tapley and Mary Morford, at St. Pauls on Thursday, 8 July 1875 at Adelaide.2,1 She presumably lived with her spouse Richard at Saltram Road, in Glenelg, South Australia, in 1883.2 In Richard Edward Tapley's will, Emma was named by Richard to handle his estate.3 Emma and Richard lived in 1891 at off King William Street South, in.4 Emma Elizabeth Whitehorn witnessed her husband Richard Edward Tapley's burial on 9 June 1891 West Terrace Cemetery at Adelaide.5,6
