Jean Forrest Sommerville was born on 8 October 1902 at Launceston, Tasmania.1
Samuel had fathered a child (Dawn Kathleen) by his landlady's daughter (Jean Forrest) during a period (mid to late 1920's) when he lived in Launceston, whilst Edith and the children lived at Douglas Street, Bellerive. It is believed that the Fysh Family arranged and paid for the move to New Zealand as Sam had become a burden which the establishment Fysh family could no longer endure.2
Jean died on 23 October 1943 at Launceston, Tasmania, at age 41.1 She was buried on 25 October 1943 at Carr Villa Memorial Park, in Launceston, Tasmania.1
