Thomas was born circa 1859 at Ballymote, County Sligo, Ireland.4 He was the son of Maria (?)3

"He was born of an old Huguenot family. At an early age he won a scholarship enabling him to enter the Primrose Grange Grammar School in Sligo, and won against students from all parts of Ireland a prize for mathematics offered by Queen Victoria.4

At 17, he became mathematics master at Lycee, Coutance, in Normandy, and later went to Sydney Sussex College, Cambridge, where he took his arts degree. With further study, at the Heidelburg University he gained the degree of doctor of philosophy.4

Rev Thomas Morrison Boyer married G. Harvey circa 1890.4

"Influenced by Bishop Kenyon, came to South Australia, where he was appointed to the Koolunga, Yacka, Snowtown, Port Broughton, and Red Hill parish. When he arrived the parish was heavily in debt but when he left it this burden had been removed. He then accepted the position of rector in the Victor Harbour parish and was rural dean of Strathalbun. Always interested in education, Mr Boyer coached many students in languages and mathematics. He had always enjoyed good health, and was noted for his energy. While he was rector, the churches were extended and parish halls built as adjuncts to church work."4

Thomas conducted the ceremony for his son's wedding to Dorothy Darby, at St. Paul's Anglican Church on Saturday, 20 October 1934 at Ambleside, South Australia.5,6,7

Thomas died on 7 August 1935 at Menindie, South Australia.4
