Margaret Gibb may have been born in 1821 at Aberdeen.1 She may have been born in 1822 at Aberdeen.2 She was the daughter of James Gibb and Christian Angus.1

Margaret Gibb was recorded as living with the Legg family and members of her own family in the 1841 census at Netherkirkgate, Aberdeen. The 1841 census only recorded adult ages rounded down to the nearest 5 years; her approximate age was recorded as 20 years old.3 Her occupation was recorded as being a dressmaker in the census.3

Margaret Gibb married Thomas Maxwell on Thursday, 7 July 1842 at Aberdeen.4

She was recorded as living with her father and brother in the 1851 census at Regent Quay, Aberdeen. She was recorded as being 29 years old.2

Margaret Gibb married James Reid at St. Nicholas on Friday, 27 February 1852 at Aberdeen.5

Margaret Gibb was recorded as the spouse of James Reid in the 1861 census at 58 John Street, Aberdeen. Also living in the house were their 5 children and her sister Euphemia.6

Her father died 20 July 1864 at the approximate age of 67.

Margaret died on 20 April 1897 at Aberdeen.1
