Amelia Playl was born on 23 March 1839 at Chipping Ongar, Essex.1,2 She was the daughter of Jerimiah Playl and Eliza Darby.1 Amelia Playl was baptized at Independent Chapel on Sunday, 24 November 1839 at Chipping Ongar, Essex.3

She was recorded as living with her grandmother in the 1851 census at High Street, Chipping Ongar, Essex. Her father and other members of her family lived next door.1 She was was an assistant to her grand-mother, a greengrocer, on 30 March 1851.1 She was a shopkeeper (confectioner) in March 1861.4

She was recorded as living with her parents and sister Eliza in the 1861 census at Chipping Ongar, Essex.4 Amelia Playl was a witness at the wedding of Henry Herbert Trigg and her sister Eliza Playl at Independent Chapel on Wednesday, 28 October 1863 at Chipping Ongar, Essex.5,6

She married William Henry Andrews, son of George Andrews and Mary Dunning, at Independent Chapel on Tuesday, 7 November 1865 at Chipping Ongar, Essex. Witnesses to the wedding were Harriet Playl.3

Amelia died on 3 January 1870 at 90 Cornwell Road, Waterloo, London, at age 30 of phtisis (tuberculosis).3
