The half-yearly examination of the Misses Daniel's school took place in the presence of a number of visitors on Thursday last when the readiness and ease with which the scholars went through their various exercises drew forth the very satisfactory expressions of -those present, and their examiner, the Rev. D. Badger, who complimented their teachers on the attention which they had evidently been devoting to those entrusted to their charge ; and after some very trite remarks to the scholars the prizes were awarded as follows:— First Class— Priscilla Bridgman, first prize: Mary Craig, second do. Second Class— Mary Ann King, first prize ; Henry Smith, second do. Third Class — Stedman Buttrose, first prize ; William King, second do.
