Henry Ernest Nicholson married Kathleen Mary Hatfield at St. Patricks on Saturday, 1 August 1959 at Winton, Queensland. They were 31 and 33 respectively.2
Henry died on 3 November 1995 at Townsville, Queensland, at age 68.1
