Lucy Charlotte Westbrook was born on 1 March 1860. She was the daughter of Thomas Westbrook and Fanny Elizabeth Lempriere.

Lucy Charlotte Westbrook married William Benson at St. Mark's Church on Thursday, 2 June 1881 at the Hobart suburb of Bellerive, Tasmania. They were 21 and 29 respectively.1,2 A family gathering.3
