Charles Berjew Brooke was born on 5 May 1839 at 13 Gilbert Street, Grosvenor Square, London, Middlesex.2,1 He was the son of William Brooke and Sarah Ann Berjew.1 Charles Berjew Brooke was baptised at St. James' on Sunday, 4 August 1839 at Paddington, London.1
Charles Berjew Brooke married Jane Robinson at Lee Chapel on Tuesday, 24 June 1862 at Lee. They were 23 and 22 respectively.1
Charles Berjew Brooke married Emma Cressy Gowland on Monday, 16 January 1865 They were 25 and 6 respectively.1
Although his copy marriage certificate states he was a 'railway clerk' and his father's occupation is given as 'commercial clerk', on every other document their occupations are reversed.1
He was a warden of the parish for 15 years and a Justice of the Peace for London and East Suffolk.2
Charles died on 10 August 1922 at Brantham, Suffolk, at age 83.3,1
He died a wealthy man, having invested in British Xylonite plastics factory, set up by his son-in-law, Charles Pierce Merriam.1
