William James Gorman was born in 1873 at Forests Reef, in Orange, New South Wales.3 He was the son of Anthony Gorman and Bridget Therese Bourke.1 William James Gorman lived with Anthony Gorman and Bridget Therese Bourke in 1884 at New Zealander Hotel in Park Street, in Sydney.4
William died on 2 April 1895 at Hospital for the Insane, in Parramatta, New South Wales.1,3 His body was interred at Rookwood Cemetery on 3 April 1895 at the Sydney suburb of Rookwood.3
