Alfred was born in June 1869 at Aughton, Lancashire.2,3
He married Marguerite Maud E. Flesfer, circa 1898 at New Zealand..4,1 In his adulthood Alfred made a living as a priest.5
He had an ecclesiastical posting as a lay reader to Queenstown, Tasmania, on 27 April 1900.5
On 6 November 1901 he became a curate.5

In 1904 he was appointed to Incumbent to King Island, Tasmania.5
In 1908 he was appointed to Incumbent to Scottsdale, Tasmania.5
In 1909 he was appointed to Incumbent to Derby, Tasmania.5
He married Coralie Hannah Lucy Fookes, daughter of Rev. Henry Samuel Cox Fookes and Jane Maria Murray, at Holy Trinity Church on Tuesday, 15 November 1910 at Launceston, Tasmania. He was 41 and his wife Coralie was 33..3,6
Alfred died on 3 February 1913 at The Rectory, in Derby, Tasmania, at age 43.3,2 His body was interred at Ringarooma Cemetery on 5 February 1913 at Ringarooma, Tasmania.5
