Claremont was born circa 1915.1 He was the son of Eric Vere Fookes and Lily Motten. He presumably lived with his parents at Lindisfarne, Tasmania, in 1928.1
Claremont Vere Fooks married Barbara May Cuthbert circa 1945.2 Claremont Vere Fooks was a bank clerk in 1949. Claremont and Barbara lived in 1949 at 24 St. Georges Terrace, in Battery Point, Tasmania.1
Claremont died on 7 March 1991 at Tasmania.1,2
