John was born circa 1720. He was the son of Thomas Berjew and Ann Brain. John Berjew was baptised at St. Nicholas' on Thursday, 5 December 1720 at Bristol.
He married Mary Cook, circa 1745. John Berjew was also known as Reverend.1 He was the vicar in 1750 at St. Leonard's, in Bristol.1 He was the vicar in 1753 at All Saint's Church, in Bristol, a post he was to remain in for 22 years.1 He was the chaplain to the Mayor in 1771 at Bristol a position he occupied for 4 years.1 He was the vicar in 1775 at Bathford and Bathampton, Bath, a position he held for 15 years until his death.1
John died on 10 January 1790. His body was interred at Bristol Cathedral on 17 January 1790 at Bristol.
