Douglas was born at MacNamara Street on Friday, 7 July 1916 at Queenstown, Tasmania.2,3,4 He was the son of Henry Ernest Hawley and Coralie Hannah Lucy Fookes. He presumably moved with his mother, father and older step-brother to Sydney.5

Douglas emigrated from Sydney circa 1920 with his family.5 Douglas arrived at England circa 1920 with his family.5


Douglas died on 22 July 2003 at Newcastle under Lyme, Staffordshire, at age 87.1
